Why Choose Corning for Your Central Office/Headend?

Corning for Your Central Office/Headend

The core of every network is the central office or headend (CO/HE). It’s the foundation needed to support the demand for new connectivity, capacity, and speed. Faced with the significant challenges of meeting increased bandwidth demands and providing enhanced services, network operators are re-evaluating their inside plant strategy and realizing new business opportunities. Our hardware solutions simplify the design and deployment of your central office or headend, with versatile product families that offer industry-leading density and flexibility and provide the lowest total cost of ownership.

The drive for bandwidth is on, don’t get left behind.

As fiber demands in fiber to the home (FTTH), Cable TV (CATV), and long-haul networks increase with the rise of more connected technology, WDMs can fully utilize existing fiber by reducing the number of fibers required to transmit and receive signals. Click here to view our WDM 101 webinar.

Centrix™ System

The Centrix System is a high-density fiber management system that provides a balance of industry-leading density with innovative jumper routing. The system can be deployed in multiple applications including: central office, headend, FTTx, FTTCS, and data center.

Centrix System supports up to 4,320 LC or 2,880 SC connector ports per standard 7-ft frame/2200 mm. The frame design provides optimized routing paths for jumpers, reducing the risk of pileup or entanglement. A single jumper length for an in-frame, cross-connect network design reduces jumper inventory.

Eclipse® Hardware Family

The Eclipse hardware family is specifically designed for FTTx applications and is available with a variety of splitter solutions that can be co-located within the same hardware frame. The Eclipse hardware family can also provide a more traditional cross-connect or interconnect solution for your network.

The Eclipse hardware wall-mountable connector housings provide interconnect or cross-connect capabilities between the outside plant, riser or distribution cables, and the opto-electronics. The units are ideal in applications that require low-fiber-count distribution (school systems, public libraries, and businesses) and are available in two sizes: the 3-panel housing and the 6-panel housing.

Enhanced Management Frame

The enhanced management frame (EMF) is designed for FTTx, cross-connect, and interconnect applications. The integrated modular design allows growth and expansion of a fiber management system one frame, one module, and one fiber termination at a time. User-friendly features such as single jumper length, in-bay jumper storage, transparent modules, and multiple inter-bay routing options make this frame an ideal solution for both FTTx deployments and traditional cross-connect and interconnect applications.
