Members of Corning’s Process Research Maintenance and Engineering Team recently volunteered on a local Habitat for Humanity project – clearing land as well as cutting and splitting wood on the existing property in preparation for two new single family homes which will be built next year.
"The Corning team was great to work with - they worked very hard, got very dirty and got a lot accomplished,” said Bob Groll, President, Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity. “It was really a great work day and a lot of fun!"
The group enjoyed this project so much that they plan to continue volunteering with Habitat until the homes are completed. “We are a hands on engineering support group that has lots of experience working on melting and forming equipment so this was a great opportunity to use our skills to help out Habitat and to build camaraderie within the team,” said Pat, a Corning employee and Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
